Stage 5 at the Nordic Circular Summit in Stockholm, Sweden + Online
About the event
This session explored the opportunities and challenges of implementing circular textiles strategies for emerging economies and how these can be addressed in the Nordics. The focus in terms of the emerging countries was on Bangladesh, India, and Vietnam which are among the top 5 textile exporters in the world.
The session also recognised that for Nordics to transition towards circular textiles we need to accelerate the transition both at the consumption end in the Nordics as well as the production end in countries such as Bangladesh, India, and Vietnam.
Finally, the session served as a pre-launch of a transition group at the Nordic Circular Hotspot titled ‘Circular Textiles in the Nordics: Challenges & Opportunities for Emerging Economies (India, Bangladesh, and Vietnam).’ The group is jointly initiated by Circular Innovation Lab and Lifestyle & Design Cluster and invites Nordic Circular Hotspot partners from all Nordic countries with a specific interest in the field to participate.
